Fake Handbags Versus Designer Handbags
Our current fashion trends place designer purses and designer handbags as integral parts of a woman’s ensemble, as important as every other accoutrement. Wallets, purses and designer handbags absolutely complete your outfit and allow you countless possibilities for mixing and matching to accent everything beautifully.
Designer handbags and other such accessories can be extremely expensive, which then gives rise to a completely different industry that deals in fake designer handbags and purses. It can be very difficult to determine which ones are genuine and which ones are fake.
Unless you’re very wealthy, designer handbags and purses are easy to substitute with these faux brands. There’s no shame is buying a less expensive, similar item. This is something that we frequently do with clothing, also. The cost of the real, designer items are ridiculous anyhow, so they’re effectively inviting this kind of competition. While people within the world of fashion will oppose this philosophy vehemently, it’s true that they are completely responsible for creating this business problem for themselves with their overinflated prices on designer handbags.
While pricing a product for it’s unique qualities is an acceptable business practice, pricing them so far over the market only drives the secondary market that will copy the bags and sell them at a greatly discounted price. I do recognize that there are copyright and patent laws at work, but there is also a certain level of greed that simply cannot be ignored.
Designer purses, wallets and designer handbags are integral to modern women’s fashion of course, so it would be useless to attempt to halt the production of less expensive, similar merchandise because the demand is so great and the supply is limited or inaccessible. This market operates like this because of both parties pushing and pulling on supply and demand for these items.
In my experience, I am not looking at the value of a handbag or purse as much as I am looking at the style and color of the purse or handbag. If it complements and completes the outfit, then it’s the way to go and I’m not too concerned about whether it’s the real thing or knock-off.
When designer handbags are talked about, genuine articles versus fake knock-offs will always cause great debate. However, this is probably what the industry wants.
